CSALY Challenge #10

Yet another fun week and fun sketch! This week's challenge was created using Gracie's card from Challenge #8, the DIY Challenge. Maria randomly chose a card and created a sketch.
I just got the new SU oval scallop punch and I can tell I will be using it a LOT! LOL Brads, Ribbon, Ink and card stock are all Stampin' Up. I wish I could remember where the DP came from it was all scraps I had on hand. I love it's rustic vintage feel.
Be sure to check out all the other Challenge Diva's cards at the CSAYL blog. They are all awesome!! You may just want to play along with us and get a jump start on your holiday cards!! It is so much fun!!! I have 25 cards so far...each week I make at least two!

Rockin' Card Tote

What a fun little card tote! First, let me apologize for the terrible lighting in the photos. I should have retaken them but I was lazy and wanted to get this posted!

I modified Andrea Walford card tote design a little and created this. She used a transparency for the front of her tote where I just used card stock and DP. I am really loving SU Rockabilly Specialty designer series paper right now. As you can see from my recent post! LOL This will make a nice little thank you gift for the young lady that helped take care of our dog while we were away last weekend!

This was a fun sketch to play with this week. Remember the DIY challenge week before last well the winner ofthat layout challange was Rachel!! Maria made the above sketch following Rachel card's layout for us to use this week!!!

This is such a cute image! I used Stampin' up papers and inks! Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and More Mustard. I use chalk pencils to color my kitty and then embossed with clear powder the red section of the hat and used puff paint on the fur section.

Happy

Challenge #8 (03-16-09)

This week's challenge was to "Create a card by incorporating a scenery design using designer papers." Here were her examples : Cut an image out from your designer paper like a Christmas tree and you can add that as your background, punch squares with the designer paper to create Christmas presents by adding a ribbon, punch flowers with the designer paper to create a floral back ground.
Well I did not follow the challenge to the T this round.... but I love my card! I took strips of different papers for the background, I then cut the star shape from a matching pattern paper. Boughs of Holly was cut from the same papers! I did use a snowflake stamp for the background on the green. Stampin Up's eyelet punch and ribbon add the final touch!

We have two new Diva's we welcomed to the group Jodi of Inked Inspirations and Cathy of My Creative Space .

Goofy Girls

This is from Lexi's 13th birthdays party ..she will be 15 this month! LOL Anyway we had a limo pick up her and 9 friends from school and they did a super fun scavanger hunt where they had to solve riddles and each place had a new clue! Only two girls would get out at each location with Lexi to find the item. and they to varify finding the item with a photo of the item and the birthday girl. Have yet to scrap those photos. These two pages are the funny pictures we took while waiting for parents to pick up the girls at the school after the party! I think the junk food and ice cream stop might have added to the silliness! LOL

MIA

Did you all think I have taken a LONG vacation! If only that were the truth!! Since Paul had is surgery last Friday (he is recovering nicely!!) I have been super busy. He is on a liquid diet for four weeks..ugggg we are on week one and it is a challenge, but we are managing. Outside of the lifting and eating restrictions he is doing really great...bored to death at home ...he will go back to work on Monday a week earlier that the doctor planned but Paul can be very persuasive! LOL

Awesome news!! Lexi made the high school varsity soccer team, she is a freshman!!! She scored the winning goal in the game last night! 1- 0 !! She is also playing on a division 3 club team and we have the association cup this weekend! Two games Saturday and one on Sunday! So we will have soccer everyday this week between practices and games!
So after the game last night I MADE myself sit down and stamp...had not even been in my craft room for a week. I created this super fun cute card!! I love Stampin' Ups designer series papers!

DYI Challenge #7

Our CSALY challenge this month was to create our own card with our own layout! This was a fun challenge. I have made these circle cards before and love them. I like to score the left side and place eyelets or brads. I have had these adorable Rudolph brads for years and LOVE using them. The colors so not show up very well in the picture because of lighting but they look MUCH better in person!
I used Stampin Up! card stock colors: Kraft, Real Red, Kiwi Kiss, and Handsome Hunter. I ran the Kiwi Kiss and Real Red through SU Texturz Plates. I used brown Stazon on the what was a silver chip holding my sentiment as I thought it was too bright.

No Stamps Required!

This is from a class I did a while back to illustrate that you can create cards without inking a stamp and using your existing supplies. I had several scrapbooking enthusiast that wanted to create cards but we intimidated by it all. They did not have any stamps and felt like they could not participate in my sketch classes. So I had to prove them wrong!! This is a simple fun card easy for any level of experience. The eyelets could have been easily substituted with brads or rhinestones, etc. I wish I could remember where this paper is from....I really liked it!
I am posting a few older cards for the rest of the week as my hubby is going in for surgery and I will be busy taking care of him. I have scheduled a few post in my absence. These are all samples from various classes I have held. Nothing extraordinary but still worth sharing.

Tote-ally Awesome Tote

I got this totally awesome idea from Becky's blog . I changed mine up a bit, I put envies in the back pocket, used only two pockets on the front to hold 2 mini bookmarks, a post-it holder and pen. The inside holds 8 cards. I used Stampin Up's Urban Garden DP and Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, and Baja Breeze Card Stock.
