Simple Cards

More often then not I create simple cards, these are a perfect example. I love layering/matting my images and gold leaf around the edges adds a simple touch of flair! Red, Black and White always look so crisp together. I thought I would try a different color combo with the Olive, Navy, Red and Black and I embossed on the background with copper powder.

Love Canvas

I made this for a dear friend of mine. It is an 8" x 8" x 2" canvas. I buy my canvases at Arron Brothers they come primed and ready to use. I used my Stampin' Up! classic ink directly on the canvas. Started with the lighter shade of Pretty in Pink and accent with Pixie Pink and Tempting Turquoise. I again used the ink pad itself and inked the mat for the photos. I would use my heat gun to dry it between colors to avoid smearing. I used Stazon ink for the stamped images.

Easy Breezy #2

Here is the same Stampin' Up! set "Garden Whimsy" but with more bling! I got my inspiration from Dawns Stamping Thoughts blog. The possibilities are endless with this fun card shape! The card stock colors are Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Blue & Sahara Sand, the flowers are Kiwi Kiss and Tempting Turquoise, the image was stamped in Pacific Blue ink, and the saying with Sahara Sand ink.

Easy Breezy

I had a busy night last night but I did get a chance to create this simple, yet cute card with the Stampin' Up! set "Garden Whimsy". The card base is Kiwi Kiss, mat is Sahara Sand, and the images were stamped in Pacific Blue ink. This is another color combo I like with the new "In-Colors".

Mini Note Cards

These are a group of 3" square Valentines note cards I made using the "Love You Much" set from Stampin' Up! As you can see by my previous posts, I am loving this new set and giving it lots of ink time, which is what every good little rubber stamp wants!

"A" is for Apple

I love this simple card. I used Stampin' Up! markers directly onto the stamp and then spritzed it with water before stamping it onto watercolor paper. Such a simple technique but great results! This color combination of, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss is becoming one of my favorites!

Christmas Cards All Year Long - Challenge #1

When I read about this today on Maria's blog I could not wait to get home from work and put together my card from the awesome sketch she posted. Today was the big launch of her new blog, Christmas Stamping All Year Long, each week she will post a challenge for us to participate in. I for one am excited to join in on the fun. What a great way to get a jump start on the holidays! So go check it out for yourself!

I used the Stampin' Up! set "Home For Christmas" as well as their papers and inks. Colored sections of the image with my Prismacolor pencils and mineral oil. You cannot tell really in the photo but the colored sections are "popped" out. The door is one level, the tree, light, and sled are another and the steps are a third. It adds fun dimension to the card!

Blast From The Past!

I came across this card I made for a Clip Art Swap in 2006! I just love it. I remember when I found the image in one of my photo magazines I fell in love with it. Her green eye is just captivating! I covered the clip with vellum and used square silver washers and black brads to attach the two together. I used a rub on for the word summer and the stitches.

Scrap-Lings

Here is my version of Scrap-lings. I got the main idea from Hero Arts. Mine are a bit bigger than some (2" x 4 1/4") but the idea is to use your scraps!! They are so fun to make. I have drawers of scraps so it was easy to find the supplies I needed! These were all made from the Stampin' Up! Love You Much set from the new catalog.

I have made about 15 so far but plan on making many more this coming weekend!

Book of Love

I made this a few weekends ago and I am just getting to post it today.

The cut out heart filled with buttons is my favorite part!! The
lighting is bad on the closeup pictures but you can still get the idea!
